  • Don’t be tempted!

    March 27, 2020
  • Next week is the 1st of the month and mortgage payments are due. In this time of uncertainty many may consider skipping or paying their biggest bill, mortgage payment, late or not at all. Please before deciding to do that contact your mortgage lender or a credit professional like us to explore your alternatives. There is lots of misinformation in the press and floating around the internet regarding mortgage forbearance and forgiveness.   Most of it is not true as the powers that be, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA.. have not provided any final guidance on how these negative credit occurrences may be treated. One thing we do know for certain, however, is a missed mortgage payment will cause serious harm to your credit scores which could drastically limit your ability to borrow in the future and/or cause you to incur extra costs and higher rates if you can. Protect your largest investment, your home, and guard your credit wisely as you navigate through the next coming days and weeks.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Kwest Mortgage Team if you have any questions related to this subject or credit options in general.
